| Prior to the beginning of each fruit season, we estimate the crop of each customer’s grove by the variety of the fruit. Based on that estimate, we establish a marketing plan. This involves maintaining contact with buyers for the processing plants and packing houses as well as monitoring the prices for fresh and processed fruit. |

Our customers have the option of marketing the fruit themselves, allowing us to do it for them, or by participating in our marketing pool. When KCM does the marketing, we tend to have more leverage (because of the volume of fruit) in getting a better price for the fruit and in scheduling the harvesting on a timelier basis. The latter involves testing the fruit regularly to determine its quality and to arrange for the crews and equipment to harvest the fruit based upon the stage of maturity. |
| The income from the sale of the fruit, less marketing and harvesting costs, is paid to the owner in two to three monthly installments following the date of harvesting. Even our pools are finalized on or before July 30th each year. |
